The artwork....

Is AMAZING!

Fun, but has a couple of bugs

First off, congrats on finishing this, it must have been a large project, doing this and TETRIS'D 2 at the same time.
While playing this game over and over and over again, I died multiple times due to being crushed by blocks that weren't really on top of me...
**As in if I was standing with one foot in a different square, like you start out, and a block would come in one of the squares, I would get crushed. I don't know if this was intended or not.
**Also, If I came down from a jump on some blocks, I would get crushed even though there was not block on top of me...
**Also, if I fell off of the tower, and tried to do a flip on the side of the tetris tower, I was pulled in and crushed...
**Another thing: If I was underneath a block, I could easily get out of it by pressing k. I don't know if this was intended or not as well.
** Another thing is the music quality. Parkerman1700's tetris remix is about as much as a trademark of the game/movies as is the stickman, and by reducing the quality of the music, I feel you kinda reduced a big aspect of the game.
Other than those things, you have a Great game here, and I wish you luck in further animations!

Is this pro graphics?

The animation graphics on this game is INCREDIBLE. I've only seen this quality graphics in Xbox 360, and PS3 games. You certainly have some real awesome talent here.

You set out to make a different kind of DnB....

... And boy did you! The transitions are almost seamless, such as those in a movie score. I could really see this being the background of a space-racing movie or something. Also, I have never heard a Newgrounds song go from 4/4 to cut time to 6/8 cut time, back to 4/4 cut time, and then back to 4/4! And I had to listen to it a few times to catch them all!

The varying melodies add a story-ish atmosphere, like the varying melodies are telling a story, and that story kicks ass! It reminds me of another great NG song (Buzztone Symphony by Dimrain47) in the way the melody changes so much.

The effects and mastery are wonderful! If the melodic contrast between all the parts wasn't enough, the varying filters and effects make them each unique. The Synths sound dark and heavy, then fast and light, then close and far away, and then the piano comes in and it sounds DIVINE.

P.S. It's much better than the Space Reggae :)

Dat sum Crazy stuff right here....

Dang man, you have some mad keyboard skillz with this song. Reminds me of a rabid squirrel spazzing out on a synthesizer. Yet through all that chaos, a melody comes out true and strong.

Some suggestions for further inspiration in the genre of crazy-ass techno is a fellow NGer called Dimrain47, his songs Operation: Evolution (ID: 109650) and Buzztone Symphony (ID:183180) sound a lot like this, and could give you some extra boosts of awesomeness.

5/5, 10/10, downloaded. You, and this song are simply amazing.

DJ-Babokon responds:

LOL SQUIRREL.

Yep, I know him. Thank you. ;D

Certainly Very Interesting

First off, I'm glad to see you're applying your crazy piano skills to synthisizers, I think you'd make a great soloist!

I'm loving the constant beat throughout the song, but it got lost in the sixteenth notes between 1:07 and 2:01. Then it breaks out into this crazy beat. As it had been said, that could use a bit more work, but who am I to tell you that?

The new ideas at the end add a refreshing twist to the song, but it's too late; by now we've sat through the same beat wih various solos for three minutes (but that's what jazz is about, and who am I to diss jazz? you ever play jazz?)

All around, it's a very solid song, with only bits and pieces perfectionists like you and I can notice.

ObsidianSnow responds:

Haha thanks.

You get lost in the sixteenths ostinato? That's kind of strange... I'm not sure I can see how, but I suppose that everyone hears it a little differently. As for 2:01, I did some more work on it and actually I'm happy with the current version with the synthesized whale call.

I understand what you mean about the "same beat", not sure about "various solos" though... I only wrote one. The rest of that is all supposed to be in an ambient/chillout style, so I tried to keep it simple... Also I love jazz. Check out "Dancing Angels" and "Fruit Sandwich" from the album "Night Grooves Vol. 1 - the best of Narada jazz". Those two are probably my favourite tunes, and that album was done by some serious all-stars.

Thanks for the review, oobeedoopskadoobie.
